I run small-group photographic safaris across Eastern and Southern Africa, visiting some of the continent’s most exceptional wildlife areas. These are trips into wild places, built around wildlife, photography and the experience of being in the African bush, with practical technical and artistic guidance throughout.

I have lived and worked full-time in the African bush for more than 16 years. This has given me a deep understanding of these wilderness areas — their wildlife, seasons, landscapes and rhythms — that can only come from time immersed in them. I want to share that knowledge and give guests an insight into Africa that goes beyond a conventional safari.

Many guests return year after year, allowing me to take a personal approach to safari planning. Rather than offering a fixed portfolio of tours, I build trips around a carefully selected collection of camps and lodges that I know well and return to regularly. I choose them for their guiding, wildlife, atmosphere and opportunities for photographers.

The safaris below are upcoming departures with places available. Each has been chosen to suit its destination and season, with plenty of time and flexibility for photography. Links to previous trip reports give a better sense of what these safaris are really like. Note that, because these tours are almost always one-off safaris, and future trips will be built around the preferences of the next group, these trips do not have extended itinerary pages – please contact me for further information.
